150 days of satellite-derived sea ice data from the Nimbus-5 NEMS radiometer, spanning discrete periods between December 1972 and October 1973. The dataset includes filtered and raw sea ice concentration estimates, brightness temperatures, and associated uncertainty fields, processed with atmospheric correction using collocated ERA5 variables. It was created by Ida Grum-Schwensen Andersen and published in 2026 to extend the microwave satellite climate data record into the early 1970s.
Data is provided in TXT and NC (NetCDF) formats; specific software may be needed to read the NetCDF files. The timestamps are expressed as days since 1 January 1900.
