Geoscience Australia and the Australian Institute of Marine Science conducted a seabed mapping survey of carbonate banks, channels, and sediment plains on the Van Diemen Rise. The survey collected detailed geological and biological data to study the region's late-Quaternary evolution and biodiversity relationships. Data collection occurred during a single survey (SOL4934) from 27 August to 24 September, 2009.
