Sediment Mobility in Torres Strait and Gulf of Papua from Hydrodynamic Model

The Torres Strait and Gulf of Papua region is modeled at 0.051-degree resolution using the MECO hydrodynamic model. The model was validated against observed current meter data and tidal sea levels, and used to investigate sediment dispersal from the Fly River and resuspension events. Sediment mobility due to currents, waves, and their interactions was analyzed for both Trade and Monsoon seasons.
