Six sedimentary cycles, each hundreds of metres thick, are documented for the Surat Basin. The cycles are analyzed in relation to nine global sea-level oscillations during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. This record was published by the Australian Ocean Data Network and was last updated in April 2026.
