A reconnaissance study of the Horn Valley Siltstone formation in the Amadeus Basin, based on sedimentological and palaeontological data from five fully cored wells. The formation is subdivided into ten informal members reflecting lithofacies variations in a shallow marine shelf environment. Organic geochemical data from two wells was used to confirm facies variations, with recorded TOC values of up to 6.30%.
