Description
33,215 non-agricultural and 3,797 agricultural workers were evaluated in 2013, with 47,849 and 4,751 assessed in 2019, respectively. Fernanda de Albuquerque Melo Nogueira analyzed data from Brazil's National Health Survey to compare self-reported health profiles. Agricultural workers showed higher prevalence of poor self-rated health and chronic back problems, while non-agricultural workers had more asthma, depression, and diabetes.
Use Cases
Compare prevalence of self-reported morbidities between occupational groups based on survey variables.
Analyze lifestyle factors like smoking and diet across worker categories mentioned in the description.
Model adjusted prevalence ratios for health outcomes by gender and age using the described Poisson model.
Investigate trends in poor self-rated health and activity limitations over the 2013-2019 period.
Strengths
Sample sizes are explicitly provided for both worker groups and survey years, totaling over 89,000 individuals.
Analysis considered sample weights and the conglomerate effect for national representativeness.
Data covers two time points (2013 and 2019), allowing for comparative analysis.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Last update date is unknown; freshness unverified.
