Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories aeromagnetic survey data collected by Fugro Airborne Surveys from March 7 to May 1, 2003. The survey used a Cessna Caravan aircraft with a 0.005 nT sensitivity magnetometer flown at a nominal terrain clearance of 200 m. Levelled total field values were interpolated to a 200 m grid, and the International Geomagnetic Reference Field was not removed.
Use Cases
- Map subsurface geological structures based on magnetic field gradients.
- Identify potential mineral deposits based on magnetic anomaly patterns.
- Integrate magnetic data with other geophysical surveys for regional geological studies.
- Analyze survey methodology and data processing techniques for airborne geophysics.
Strengths
- Survey conducted with a high-sensitivity 0.005 nT split-beam cesium vapour magnetometer.
- Flight path recovered using post-flight differential GPS combined with a vertically mounted video camera.
- Data levelled and interpolated to a consistent 200 m grid.
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- The International Geomagnetic Reference Field has not been removed from the magnetic total field.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
