Description
A section of the Two-Way Route from Abbot Point through Hydrographers Passage, Queensland, was surveyed for bathymetric data. The survey was acquired for the Australian Hydrographic Office by iXblue Pty Ltd onboard the RV Escape between 6 October 2020 and 16 March 2021. Data was processed into a 30-meter resolution, 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF grid.
Use Cases
Modeling seabed topography based on the 30-meter resolution bathymetric grid.
Analyzing coastal geomorphology changes based on the surveyed section of the Two-Way Route.
Supporting marine habitat mapping studies based on the processed depth data.
Conducting oceanographic research based on the high-resolution bathymetry of the passage.
Strengths
Data was acquired using a Kongsberg EM 2040 multibeam echosounder, a specific high-precision instrument.
The final product is a 30-meter resolution grid, providing a concrete spatial detail level.
Survey has a defined temporal scope from 6 Oct 2020 to 16 Mar 2021.
Data was processed using specific software (QPS QINSy), suggesting a structured workflow.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
