Hourly carbon flux data estimates the global net ecosystem exchange (NEE) between the atmosphere and terrestrial biosphere from 1998 to 2006. The dataset contains 9 years of modeled hourly flux values for 14,637 land points on a 1-degree Cartesian grid, produced using the Simple Biosphere Model, Version 3 (SiB3). Data is provided by NASA in NetCDF and GeoTIFF formats, processed and distributed by the ORNL DAAC.
Data is provided in two NetCDF variants: one investigator-provided format excludes water grid cells to minimize storage, while the CF-compliant version includes land and water cells. Users must process the raw files with the provided FORTRAN code to generate summarized fluxes.
