Description
A 2021 dataset from the French Geological Survey (BRGM) containing geospatial data for the Natural Hazard Prevention Plan (PPRN) of the municipality of Orgeix. The data follows the COVADIS standard for storing regulatory zoning, hazard maps, and identified issues related to eight main natural hazards. The plan's development is the responsibility of the French State, as established by the Act of 2 February 1995.
Use Cases
Delineating regulated land-use zones based on the regulatory mapping described in the standard.
Mapping hazard intensity levels for floods, earthquakes, or avalanches using the hazard documents referenced in the description.
Identifying and analyzing assets and populations at risk based on the 'issues' maps mentioned in the RPP annexes.
Strengths
Data adheres to the standardized COVADIS specification for risk prevention plans, promoting interoperability.
Covers eight major natural hazards (floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, terrain movements, coastal hazards, avalanches, forest fires, cyclones and storms) as defined by French national policy.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
