Description
A dataset produced by the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières for reporting under the European Flood Directive, last updated in March 2019. It contains objects describing the right-of-way and useful characteristics of flood risk territories in the Aquitaine region, specifically around Pau. The data is used to produce flood surface and flood risk maps for three probability levels (high, medium, low) to support vulnerability assessments.
Use Cases
Generate flood surface maps based on the described right-of-way and territory characteristics.
Create flood risk maps representing exposed issues on an appropriate scale as required by the Flood Directive.
Assess territorial vulnerability using quantitative evidence for high, medium, and low flood probability levels.
Support the homogenization and objectification of flood exposure knowledge for regional planning.
Strengths
Produced by a national geological and mining research bureau (BRGM) for official reporting.
Designed to meet specific legal requirements of European Directive 2007/60/EC and French national laws.
Supports mapping for three distinct flood probability levels (high, medium, low).
