Description
15 municipalities in the Corrèze department of France are covered by this dataset, which classifies flood hazard zones based on a hydrological model. The data was produced by the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) and approved on October 30, 2013. It categorizes land into red (non-constructible), dark blue (constructible under conditions for economic activities), and blue (constructible under conditions) zones to prevent risk to people and property.
Use Cases
Assess land constructibility for development permits based on flood hazard classes.
Model flood risk exposure for insurance and emergency planning based on the defined hazard zones.
Analyze the spatial distribution of flood risk across 15 municipalities in the Dordogne basin.
Strengths
Covers 15 specific municipalities with detailed municipal-level PPRi plans.
Hazard classification is based on hydrological modeling for multiple rivers, including historical and calculated reference floods.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
