Jura region noise-exposed areas exceeding 55 dB(A) Lden and 50 dB(A) Ln thresholds, compiled from strategic noise maps. The layer was created by a GIS workshop in June 2018 using CEREMA reports for road and rail networks and June 2018 motorway data. Noise levels are represented using European harmonized indicators Ln (night) and Lden (day-evening-night).
Use Cases
- Mapping areas exposed to significant transportation noise based on Lden and Ln indicators.
- Analyzing noise pollution distribution relative to road, rail, and motorway networks.
- Assessing compliance with noise exposure thresholds for urban planning.
- Visualizing strategic noise maps (type A maps) for public communication.
Strengths
- Data is based on official CEREMA strategic noise map reports.
- Uses standardized European noise indicators Lden and Ln.
- Compiles noise exposure from three major transportation sources: roads, railways, and motorways.
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Last updated 2019-03-27; freshness should be verified.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
