Description
Digitized regulated zoning from a French Local Planning Plan (PLU), cancelled by the Toulouse administrative court and reverted to the National Urbanism Regulation (RNU) since January 29, 2015. The dataset classifies municipal land into four legally defined zones: Urban (U), To Be Urbanized (AU), Agricultural (A), and Natural/Forest (N). It was produced by the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) and last updated in September 2021.
Use Cases
Classify municipal land into regulated zones (U, AU, A, N) based on the French Urban Planning Code.
Analyze the impact of administrative court decisions on local planning documents.
Map areas eligible for building rights transfer (transfer of COS) within natural zones.
Identify constructible versus inconstructible zones within areas designated for future urbanization (AU).
Strengths
Data is digitized according to national requirements of the CNIG, suggesting standardization.
Zoning is defined by specific articles (R.123-5 to 8) of the French Urban Planning Code, providing a legal basis.
