Risk Prevention Plans (PPR) are the key state instrument for monitoring development in areas exposed to major natural hazards, established under the French Act of 2 February 1995. Each plan includes a presentation note, regulatory zoning plan, and regulations, and is identified by a polygon covering affected municipalities. The data is managed by the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières and was last updated in April 2019.
The data is explicitly noted as informative and not legally enforceable. Official documents must be consulted at the Town Hall or Prefecture.
