Description
Real-time atmospheric pollutant measurements from an automatic monitoring station in Piedecuesta, part of the Air Quality Surveillance System (SVCA) operated by the CDMB. The station measures pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NO2, O3, CO, and TRS, alongside meteorological variables like wind speed, temperature, and solar radiation. Data collection follows Resolution 2254 of 2017 from the Colombian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
Use Cases
Modeling PM2.5 concentration from meteorological variables like wind speed, temperature, and humidity using regression on 17 available columns.
Analyzing diurnal patterns of ozone (O3) levels in relation to solar radiation and nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2, NOX) using time-series analysis on the FECHA Y HORA column.
Correlating sulfur dioxide (SO2) and total reduced sulfur (TRS) levels with wind direction to identify potential local pollution sources.
Forecasting air quality index (AQI) by integrating particulate matter (PM10, PM2.5) and gas pollutant (CO, O3) readings with atmospheric pressure and precipitation data.
Strengths
Measures 10 distinct air pollutants and 7 meteorological parameters, providing a multi-faceted view of local air quality.
Data is collected in real-time by an automatic station, suggesting potential for high temporal resolution.
Collection methodology is aligned with a national regulatory standard (Resolution 2254 of 2017).
Limitations
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for large-scale modeling.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality, completeness, and potential gaps require manual inspection after download.
