Description
CDMB's Air Quality Surveillance System (SVCA) provides real-time atmospheric pollutant data from a station on the roof of Hospital Local del Norte. The dataset covers January to July 2025 and includes measurements for particulate matter (PM₁₀, PM₂.₅), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), tropospheric ozone (O₃), and carbon monoxide (CO). Each data point is accompanied by a validation flag indicating its quality status.
Use Cases
Analyzing temporal trends of pollutants like PM10 and O3 using DATOS VALIDOS PM10 and DATOS VALIDOS O3 columns.
Assessing data quality and reliability by filtering records based on the various BANDERAS (flag) columns.
Correlating different pollutant levels, such as NOX and CO, using DATOS VALIDOS NOX and DATOS VALIDOS CO columns.
Validating sensor readings by comparing raw platform data (e.g., DATOS PLATAFORMA SO2) with validated data (DATOS VALIDOS SO2).
Strengths
Includes a detailed validation flag system with 11 distinct status codes (e.g., VA, IC, IR) for assessing data quality.
Covers a specific 7-month time range (January–July 2025) from a known monitoring station location.
Monitors multiple key atmospheric pollutants as mandated by Colombian Resolution 2254 of 2017.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for large-scale modeling.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality and completeness require manual inspection after download.
