Slovakia Subnational Rainfall: Dekadal Indicators and Anomalies

A source of dekadal rainfall indicators for Slovakia's subnational administrative units, produced by the World Food Programme using CHIRPS satellite imagery and CHIRPS-GEFS forecasts. It tracks 10-day, 1-month, and 3-month rainfall totals and anomalies, with updates issued six times per month as of March 2026.

Use Cases

• Monitoring agricultural drought conditions by evaluating the rainfall anomaly percentage (rfq) for specific administrative units
• Predicting immediate water availability using the 10-day rainfall forecast (rfh) when the type column indicates forecast status
• Analyzing seasonal precipitation shifts by comparing 3-month rolling aggregations (r3h) against their long-term averages (r3h_avg)

Strengths

• Includes nine distinct rainfall indicators including rolling aggregations and anomalies
• Provides data quality transparency through the n_pixels column which counts input pixels per aggregate
