Central Montana DSMs derived from UAV-LiDAR imagery during the SnowEx 2021 field campaign. The dataset includes one snow-off and seven snow-on flights at 0.3 m resolution, plus a 0.25 m resolution orthomosaic from 21 January 2021. It was published by NSIDC_CPRD and last updated on 2021-03-04.
Use Cases
- Model snow depth evolution based on the series of seven snow-on DSMs
- Compare terrain features between snow-covered and bare ground states using the snow-off DSM
- Create detailed visualizations of the study area using the 0.25 m resolution orthomosaic
- Analyze UAV-LiDAR derived surface elevation changes over a field campaign period
Strengths
- DSMs are provided at a high spatial resolution of 0.3 meters
- Includes temporal comparison data with one snow-off and seven snow-on flights
- Provides an additional high-resolution (0.25 m) orthomosaic for visual reference
Limitations
- Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download
- Last updated 2021-03-04 23:59:59.999000; freshness should be verified
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
