Fifteen sites in semiarid regions were sampled to determine soil seed bank density, species richness, and diversity under three shrub species and a herbaceous control. The dataset, authored by Reza Erfanzadeh of Tarbiat Modares University, shows seed density was highest under Amygdalus scoparia (1133 seeds per m²) and lowest in herbaceous vegetation (110 seeds per m²). Species richness and diversity were significantly greater under Ebenus stellata than under other shrubs and the control.
