A study of 18 adult Campolina mares, aged six to fourteen years, with and without obesity, conducted by Jéssica Fontana de Magalhães. Radiographic measurements from the forelimbs were analyzed to evaluate the spatial relationship between the hoof capsule and the distal phalanx. The sinking distance of the distal phalanx was about 20% higher in obese mares and correlated with adiposity parameters.
