High-resolution microscope imagery and expert annotations of sponge spicules, including oxea and tylostyle forms, were collected and processed during 2025-2026. The data were generated from slide-mounted preparations using brightfield and relief microscopy at multiple magnifications. This expert-validated reference material supports the development and benchmarking of computer vision models for spicule measurement and taxonomic analysis.
