Description
159 stars provide a complete sampling of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. The Spitzer Atlas of Stellar Spectra presents IRS Short-Low and Long-Low spectra for these stars. The SASS Catalog, created by NASA, includes spectral type, luminosity type, color, metallicity, and photometry for each star.
Use Cases
Classify stellar types based on spectral type and luminosity type.
Model stellar evolution across the HR diagram based on the complete sampling.
Analyze relationships between stellar photometry and metallicity.
Benchmark infrared spectral models against observed IRS spectra.
Strengths
Contains data for 159 stars, providing a complete sampling of the HR diagram.
Includes multiple derived stellar properties: spectral type, luminosity type, color, metallicity, and photometry.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
