Description
Murray Marine Park, Australia, was surveyed in April 2024 as part of a subsea cable route investigation. The dataset contains bathymetry, seabed feature, and shallow geology data collected by EGS onboard the RV Bold Explorer. It is published by Geoscience Australia Data and is not for navigational use.
Use Cases
Modeling seabed topography for cable route planning based on bathymetry data.
Identifying potential seabed hazards for infrastructure projects based on seabed feature investigation.
Analyzing shallow geological structures for environmental assessments based on the shallow geology survey component.
Strengths
Data collection followed a documented calibration and verification process for positioning and sensor systems between April 17-20, 2024.
Survey scope includes multiple data layers: bathymetry, seabed features, and shallow geology.
Limitations
Row count and column-level documentation are absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality and format require manual inspection after download.
