Description
Beagle Marine Park bathymetric data acquired between March 7 and April 4, 2024. The survey was conducted by EGS Survey Pty Ltd onboard the RV Bold Explorer for the SUBCO Subsea Cable Network (SSCN) Segment 2-E route. The primary purpose was to identify a viable cable route clear of excessive slopes, adverse sea floor conditions, and obstacles.
Use Cases
Modeling seafloor topography for cable route planning based on bathymetric survey data.
Identifying potential seabed obstacles for cable installation based on survey objectives.
Assessing slope gradients for engineering feasibility based on the >6° slope criterion.
Supporting environmental impact assessments for marine infrastructure projects based on the park location.
Strengths
Data has a precise temporal coverage from March 7 to April 4, 2024.
Survey purpose is explicitly defined for cable route engineering and construction.
Geographic scope is confined to the Beagle Marine Park.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
