Baltimore's St. Mary’s Seminary Chapel, established in 1808, served a community including French-speaking Haitian refugees from 1796 to 1833. This dataset documents individuals identified as enslaved from the seminary's Confraternity Membership and Easter Duty lists. The data was contributed by Tricia Pyne to the Journal of Slavery and Data Preservation Dataverse and was last updated in May 2026.
