UK Electoral Area Measurements: Land, Water, and Coastline

Standard Area Measurements (SAM) provide flat area calculations for UK electoral boundaries, including Westminster constituencies, Senedd and Scottish Parliament constituencies and regions, and European Electoral Regions. Four area types are measured in hectares to two decimal places: total extent, coastline, inland water, and land area. The Eurostat-recommended land area measurement is intended for compiling population density figures.
