Description
SCIOPS conducted a field study from the Risopatron Station on Robert Island between February 8th and 27th, 1993. The project measured photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation in lichen species Leptogium puberulum, Nostoc sp., and Catallaria corimbosa using a portable gas exchange device and the acetylene reduction method. It also collected microclimatic data over 18 days and studied lichen recolonization near a glacier front.
