A longitudinal observational study conducted at the Westwood Nursery, University of Bath, investigated the correlation between urease activity in infant faeces and nappy rash incidence. The study analyzed soiled nappies donated up to twice weekly from six infants over a 9-month period. Results demonstrated a clear statistical correlation between urease expression and observed rash incidence.
