A 75.2 KB dataset from a 2026 figshare study by Diana López-Ibarra investigating the effects of acute hyperexcitability on adult hippocampal neurogenesis and memory in mice. The study administered low (5 mg/kg) or high (25 mg/kg) doses of kainic acid to mice, recorded EEG, assessed spatial and contextual fear memory, and analyzed adult-born granule cells 32 days post-treatment. Findings reveal seizure severity differentially modulates morphological and synaptic features of new neurons and selectively disrupts spatial memory.
