2165 adults with asthma and 2331 with psychological stress-induced asthma (PSA) were analyzed from NHANES cycles 2007–2012 and 2015–2018. This research by Zhijie Zhang, last updated in April 2026, integrates cross-sectional NHANES data with a prospective cohort study using untargeted metabolomics. Findings suggest higher vitamin D levels are independently associated with a lower incidence of PSA, particularly depression-dominant cases.
