Description
140 participants from three tertiary hospitals in Yibin, China, were enrolled in a randomized controlled trial comparing Five-Element Music Therapy to relaxation training. The dataset includes assessments of psychological distress, anxiety, depression, sleep quality, and health-related quality of life at baseline, posttreatment, and a 1-month follow-up. The supplementary file, authored by Bo Zhang and published on figshare in 2026, contains the results of this non-inferiority trial.
Use Cases
Compare the efficacy of two psychological interventions (music therapy vs. relaxation training) based on the reported outcome measures.
Analyze temporal trends in psychological distress, anxiety, and depression scores based on the three assessment timepoints.
Model the relationship between psychological distress and health-related quality of life based on the SF-36 survey data.
Assess the non-inferiority of a Traditional Chinese Medicine-based intervention using the predefined margin and confidence intervals reported.
Strengths
Data originates from a multicenter, randomized controlled trial with 140 participants, a robust study design.
Includes validated assessment tools (vDT, SAS, SDS, PSQI, SF-36) for multiple psychological and quality-of-life domains.
Provides longitudinal data with assessments at baseline, week 4, and a 1-month follow-up.
Limitations
Row count and column-level documentation are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data is contained in a 33.0 KB DOCX file, suggesting it is likely summary results or a manuscript, not the raw participant-level dataset.
Geographic coverage is limited to three hospitals in Yibin, China, which may affect generalizability.
