5,506 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from six locations in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, used to investigate the genetic structure of European sardine populations. The data, authored by Marta Caballero-Huertas and last updated in May 2026, identified strong differentiation between Atlantic–Alboran and Mediterranean groups and linked specific loci to somatic condition. This work provides the first genomic evidence connecting genetic markers to the somatic condition of this ecologically and economically important fish.
Data is provided as a supplementary PDF file; the underlying tabular SNP data may need to be extracted.
