Description
Kaibo Zhu's dataset contains transcriptomic and metabolomic data from a saline-alkali stress experiment on mung bean (Vigna radiata L.). The data includes results from two genotypes (tolerant JG and sensitive TQ) sampled at 0, 3, and 7 days under 100 mmol·L⁻¹ stress, with 5,905 detected metabolites and differentially expressed gene counts ranging from 1,833 to 7,886. The dataset was last updated on 2026-05-29 and is shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
Use Cases
Identify key genes for saline-alkali tolerance based on differential expression analysis between tolerant and sensitive genotypes.
Analyze co-expression networks to find core regulatory modules involved in stress response using Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA).
Investigate metabolic pathway enrichment, such as arginine and proline metabolism, based on KEGG annotations of 5,905 metabolites.
Validate transcriptomic findings via quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) results mentioned in the description.
Study integrated molecular responses by examining co-enriched pathways like carbon fixation in photosynthetic organisms.
Strengths
Includes multi-omics data from transcriptomic sequencing and metabolomic analysis of 5,905 metabolites.
Experimental design compares two distinct genotypes (JG and TQ) across three time points (0, 3, and 7 days).
Key findings are validated with qRT-PCR, and specific hub genes (e.g., LOC106754509, LOC106772717) and metabolites (e.g., D-Arginine, spermine) are identified.
Dataset is openly shared under a permissive CC-BY-4.0 license.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The primary data file is a 2.4 MB DOCX document, which may not be a standard format for structured omics data analysis.
