Supplementary file 2 contains qualitative interview data from a study of 22 community-dwelling older adults (aged 60–74) in Dalian, China, conducted between March and June 2025. The data, authored by Xu Lou and published on figshare, explores themes of identity, willingness for social engagement, and multi-level drivers and barriers.
