A European Society of Retina Specialists and British and Eire Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons cohort study of 215 eyes with giant retinal tear-associated retinal detachment between 2011 and 2024. The data, published by figshare admin karger, compares anatomical and visual outcomes for surgeries using gas versus silicone oil tamponade. The mean patient age was 53 years, and 80% of cases were male.
