Description
107 stations were sampled during a survey from 26/07/2003 to 09/08/2003 aboard the RV Corystes. The survey collected station, catch, length, and biological data for 167 species in the Southern North Sea and Eastern English Channel using a 4m beam trawl. It was undertaken by Cefas as part of an ICES-funded research program and in support of EU data regulations.
Use Cases
Modeling species distribution and abundance based on catch data from 107 stations.
Analyzing fish population length structures based on the collected length data.
Assessing benthic community composition based on the collection of benthic data.
Studying marine litter distribution patterns based on the litter data collection aim.
Correlating catch rates with environmental factors based on collected water temperature and salinity data.
Strengths
Survey operations were undertaken on 107 stations, providing spatial coverage.
Records catch data for 167 different species identified during the survey.
Includes multiple data types: station, catch, length, and biological data for selected species.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
