Use Cases
Perform spatial analysis to determine if a proposed development location falls within the gazetted Development Control Area boundary.
Integrate this boundary layer with land parcel data to assess planning constraints for properties adjoining the Swan and Canning rivers.
Use the WFS or GeoJSON service to create interactive maps showing the jurisdictional area managed by the Rivers and Estuaries Branch.
Strengths
Boundary is officially gazetted, providing legal and administrative authority.
Available in seven geospatial formats (WFS, WMS, FGDB, etc.) for interoperability.
Last gazetted update was on May 7, 2016, with a metadata record refreshed in March 2026.
