Description
A 2005 catalog from NASA HEASARC contains 188 confirmed and 30 suspected symbiotic stars. For each object, it provides coordinates, magnitudes, multi-wavelength observations, spectral types, and references to key papers. The table was created based on data from the CDS directory J/A+AS/146/407/.
Use Cases
Classifying symbiotic star candidates based on multi-wavelength observational data.
Analyzing correlations between spectral types and observed ionization potentials.
Identifying objects for follow-up study using the provided coordinates and finding chart references.
Training machine learning models for stellar object classification using the catalog's confirmed and suspected labels.
Strengths
Catalog includes 188 confirmed symbiotic stars, providing a substantial sample.
Lists 30 suspected objects, useful for discovery and validation studies.
Provides multi-wavelength observational data (UV, IR, X-ray, radio) per object.
Includes references to spectra, classifications, and recent papers discussing physical parameters.
Limitations
Excludes orbital ephemerides, parallaxes, and outburst information contained in the printed version.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
