4116 patients with type 2 diabetes were tracked for a median of 3.01 years to study the link between the TyG-BMI index and incident heart failure. The research, authored by Zhe Zhang and shared on figshare, found 904 new HF cases and reported a hazard ratio of 1.40 for the highest TyG-BMI quartile. The TyG-BMI index demonstrated an AUC of 0.83 for predicting heart failure, outperforming BMI and the TyG index alone.
