608 adolescents and young adults from southern China participated in a cross-sectional survey between July and September 2025. The data, authored by Pan Ding, shows a 34.38% prevalence of depressive symptoms and an 8.52-fold higher odds of anxiety for those in the highest academic stress quartile. Emotional eating was identified as a potential mediating factor, accounting for 9.98% of the association with anxiety symptoms.
