Description
Stellaria dichotoma, a traditional Chinese medicinal plant, has its first chromosome-level genome assembly. The 1.93 Gb genome was sequenced using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C technologies, achieving 96.53% BUSCO completeness and anchored to 14 chromosomes. This dataset, authored by Xiao-Yan Gan and shared in 2026, contains genomic metrics including annotations for 48,391 protein-coding genes and repetitive element analysis.
Use Cases
Analyzing transposable element proliferation based on the reported 84.46% repetitive sequence content
Studying whole-genome duplication events based on Ks distribution analysis mentioned in the description
Functional annotation of genes based on the 95.51% of protein-coding genes annotated across multiple databases
Comparative genomics within Caryophyllaceae based on the shared ancient WGD event identified
Strengths
High-quality assembly metrics: contig N50 of 125.08 Mb and scaffold N50 of 133.88 Mb
