12,542 school-aged participants from the 2016–2019 China Children and Lactating Women Nutrition and Health Surveillance provide data on branched-chain amino acid intake and obesity metrics. The study found a positive association, with the highest tertile of intake linked to a 52% higher risk of general obesity. Machine learning analyses identified leucine as the most influential component for predicting obesity risk.
