Twenty-four randomized controlled trials involving 1,962 patients were analyzed to evaluate skull base-peripheral acupuncture for post-stroke cognitive impairment. The meta-analysis, conducted by Yinyi Xiong and published in 2026, found significant improvements in cognitive scores and activities of daily living compared to control groups. The review is registered with PROSPERO and includes data from eight databases searched up to July 2025.
