Description
Sanchari Kundu's dataset, published on figshare in March 2026, contains experimental data on the effects of exogenous putrescine on salt tolerance in hybrid poplar trees. The 9.8 KB dataset includes measurements of plant growth, gas exchange, chlorophyll, carotenoids, soluble sugars, proteins, amino acids, polyamines, and relative water content. Data were collected from plants treated with 100 mM and 200 mM NaCl and foliar putrescine spray over a 35-day period.
Use Cases
Modeling the relationship between polyamine application and growth metrics like stem height and diameter under salt stress.
Analyzing temporal changes in metabolic compounds such as fructose and sucrose following foliar treatments.
Comparing physiological responses like gas exchange and relative water content across different salt concentration levels.
Strengths
Specific quantitative results are reported, such as a ~20% increase in stem height and a ~15% increase in stem diameter under 100 mM NaCl with putrescine.
Multiple physiological and biochemical variables were measured, including gas exchange, chlorophyll, carotenoids, sugars, proteins, amino acids, and polyamines.
Data collection occurred at multiple time points (3, 6, 7, 13, 20, 35 days) after treatment, suggesting a time-series structure.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The dataset is very small at 9.8 KB, indicating a limited experimental scope.

Collection Method
Experimental data collected in a greenhouse from hybrid poplar (Populus nigra x maximowiczii, clone NM6) plants subjected to controlled salt stress and foliar putrescine application.
Time Range
Measurements were taken over a 35-day experimental period.
