Laboratory Parameters During Football Tournaments, 2004–2023

564,316 laboratory measurements were analyzed from a tertiary care center surrounding 19 major football tournaments from 2004 to 2023. The retrospective study by Marlene Hollenstein compared event periods to reference periods for liver enzymes, inflammatory markers, and pancreatic enzymes. Results indicated no clinically meaningful population-level changes in routine laboratory parameters during tournaments.
