Description
Four near-full-length HIV-1 genomes characterize a novel circulating recombinant form, CRF205_0107, identified among men who have sex with men in Hangzhou, China. The dataset includes genomic sequences, recombination patterns, phylogenetic analysis, and coreceptor tropism predictions. Ling Ye authored the study, which was uploaded to figshare in April 2026.
Use Cases
Analyzing HIV-1 recombination patterns based on genomic sequences derived from CRF01_AE and CRF07_BC.
Estimating the time of origin of recombinant strains based on Bayesian analysis methods.
Predicting viral coreceptor tropism based on V3-loop sequences.
Studying phylogenetic relationships of HIV-1 lineages among Chinese MSM populations.
Identifying novel recombinant clusters for molecular surveillance based on pol gene sequences.
Strengths
Includes four near-full-length genomes (NFLGs) with 98% similarity to a previously reported sequence.
Recombination analysis shows all five genomes share a highly similar recombination pattern.
Phylogenetic analysis demonstrates a distinct monophyletic clade with 100% bootstrap support.
Coreceptor tropism analysis indicates all five NFLGs are CXCR4-tropic.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The dataset is 16.6 KB, indicating a very small sample size.

Collection Method
Plasma samples from HIV-1 infected individuals without known epidemiological linkages were selected; NFLGs were generated using a two-segment amplification strategy.
Time Range
The recombinant form CRF205_0107 is estimated to have originated around 2017–2018.
Freshness
Last updated 2026-04-09 05:15:05; freshness should be verified.
Geography
Hangzhou, China; one related sequence is from Hebei Province.
The primary data file is a DOCX document; the actual tabular data may be embedded within the text.
