335 undergraduate students from Kwara State University and the University of Ilorin were surveyed on parental attitudes toward mother tongue use and language competence. The study found a generally negative parental attitude toward mother tongue use, low undergraduate language competence, and low readiness for internationalized higher education. Data were collected using two researcher-developed instruments and analyzed by Olabisi Adedigba.
