3,210 patient records from a 2021 national surveillance database, restricted to women classified as severe maternal morbidity (SMM) cases. The dataset compares sociodemographic and clinical characteristics between Colombian (86.8%) and foreign (13.2%) women, with analysis by John Camilo Garcia Uribe. The main causes of SMM were preeclampsia (66.3%), obstetric hemorrhage (23.5%), and cardiovascular failure (43.5%).
