A systematic review and meta-analysis of seven studies involving 648 patients evaluates the prognostic value of interim post-treatment SPECT/CT imaging following lutetium-177-PSMA therapy for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The analysis, conducted by Amirreza Shamshirgaran and published on figshare in April 2026, pooled hazard ratios for survival outcomes based on imaging parameters. It found that the emergence of new lesions and increases in total tumor volume were associated with worse overall and PSA-progression-free survival.
